Organic Baby Clothes CATONSVILLE

Filed Under (Organic Baby Clothes) by Kaye on 08-04-2009

Long before I had my first child, I never really believed I would belong to a mothers group. Anyhow, now that I am finally a new mother, chatting to other mothers about what is going on in my life has really helped me. We chat about how we deal with our children, what to do and not to do, we share baby food recipes, and we love to chat about the most recent baby outfits we have purchased.

I generally get together with 2 other women, once a week, to hear about the latest gossip. We generally meet at Friendlys Restaurant (which is in CATONSVILLE, MD) as that is fairly central for all of us. Last month was really interesting as we talked about baby clothes. I have been giving my baby boy organic produce from the start but I had never thought about purchasing organic clothing for her.

Cotton is one of the most widely grown crops in America and one of the most harmful to the habitat and to farm workers. The run off from these farms has destroyed the environment and particularly water bodies. Organic produce is made without the use of artificial fertilisers and chemicals. Rather, organic farming depends upon things like crop rotation, raising the quality of soils naturally, and using organic pest control practices.

You can buy organic baby apparel online from a number of stores. Sckoon is my favourite for organic baby clothing.

Benefits of Organic Clothing

Getting organic products means you are getting products which have been produced in an environmentally friendly manner, or at the very least in a way which causes less damage to the environment. No or less use of pesticides and fertilisers means less pollution of our farms and lakes, fewer diseases for farm employees, and fewer health risks for children by reducing their contact with dangerous chemicals.

Quite a few producers of baby clothes also produce a range of organic clothing or you can find designers entirely devoted to organic baby fashion. Thankfully, there are a lot of brands to choose from and all ages are taken care of, from toddlers to older children. Of course, organic clothing for men and women is also accessible and I am looking into that for myself and my husband.

I do not think that I am only going to buy organic cotton or bamboo clothes (which is a great alternative to regular or organic cotton) for my child but I am absolutely going try to whenever I can.
