Organic Baby Clothes CAMERON

Back before I had my first child, I never thought I would join a mothers group. However, now that I am a mum, chatting to other women about what is happening in my life has really helped me. We chat about how we bring up our children, what to do and not to do, we share recipes, and we love to discuss the latest baby clothes we have picked up.

I generally get together with 4 other women, once a fortnight, to catch up on the latest happenings. We often meet at Cameron Motel & Restaurant (which is in CAMERON, LA) as that is pretty central for all of us. Last month was particularly exciting seeing we talked about baby clothes. I have been giving my baby organic food from the beginning but I had never thought about getting organic clothing for her.

Cotton is one of the most widely grown products in the US and one of the most harmful to the ecosystem and to farm workers. The run off from cotton farms has ruined ecosystems and especially water bodies. Organic products are produced without using artificial fertilisers and chemicals. Instead, organic farming depends on things like crop rotation, enhancing soils naturally, and using eco friendly pest control practices.

Benefits of Organic Clothing

Buying organic products means you are buying clothes which have been produced in an eco friendly manner, or at the very least in a way which causes less contamination of soils and waterways. No or less use of pesticides and synthetic fertilisers means less pollution of our land and lakes, less health problems for farm employees, and fewer health risks for our children by lessening their contact with dangerous chemicals.

A number of producers of baby clothes also sell a range of organic clothes or you can find stores completely devoted to organic baby fashion. Anyway, there are a lot of brands to choose from and all ages are provided for, from infants to teenagers. Naturally, organic clothes for men and women is also obtainable and I am looking into that for myself and my husband.

I do not think that I am only ever going to purchase organic cotton or bamboo clothing (which is an amazing alternative to regular or organic cotton) for my child but I am absolutely going try to whenever possible.
