Organic Baby Clothes CAIRO

Back before I had my first child, I never really thought I would join a mothers group. However, now that I have become a mum, chatting to other mothers about what is taking place in my life has been a huge help. We talk about how we bring up our children, what to do and not to do, we share recipes, and we enjoy being able to talk about the most recent baby fashions we have bought.

I more often than not get together with 3 other women, once a fortnight, to find out the latest happenings. We generally meet at Frank's Pizza Express (which is in CAIRO, NY) as that is fairly central for all of us. Last month was more eye opening because we talked about organic baby clothes. I have been providing my baby boy organic produce from the beginning but I had never thought about purchasing organic clothing for her.

Cotton is one of the most broadly grown plants in America and one of the most devastating to the environment and to farm employees. The run off from these farms has destroyed ecosystems and in particular water supplies. Organic products are produced without the need for artificial fertilisers and pesticides. Rather, organic farming depends on things like crop rotation, raising the quality of soils naturally, and using eco friendly pest control techniques.

You can purchase soft organic cotton baby outfits online from a number of stores. Sckoon is my favourite for organic baby apparel.

Benefits of Organic Baby Clothing

Buying organic products means you are getting products which have been produced in an eco friendly manner, or at the very least in a way which causes less pollution of soils and waterways. No or less use of pesticides and synthetic fertilisers means less pollution of our soils and lakes, fewer cancers for farm workers, and fewer health risks for children by reducing their contact with dangerous chemicals.

Many makers of baby clothes also make a range of organic items or you can find stores completely committed to organic baby clothing. Either way, there are a lot of designs to choose from and all ages are provided for, from infants to adolescents. Naturally, organic fashion for men and women is also available and I am looking into that for myself and my husband.

I would not go as far to say that I am only ever going to purchase organic cotton or bamboo cotton clothing (which is an excellent alternative to regular or organic cotton) for my child but I am without a doubt going try to whenever possible.
