Organic Baby Clothes CABLE

Before I had my children, I had not believed I would be part of a mothers group. Anyhow, now that I have become a new mother, talking to other women about what is going on in my life has really helped me. We chat about how we raise our children, what to do and not to do, we share meal plans, and we love to discuss the latest baby outfits we have purchased.

I generally go out with 3 other women, once a fortnight, to find out the latest new. We often meet at Lakewoods Resort & Golf (which is in CABLE, WI) as that is fairly central for all of us. Last week was really interesting because we discussed organic baby clothing. I have been feeding my baby organic food from the beginning but it had never crossed my mind to getting organic clothing for her.

Cotton is one of the most popular plants in the US and one of the most devastating to the environment and to farm employees. The run off from non-organic cotton farms has destroyed habitats and in particular water ways. Organic cotton is made without the need for artificial fertilisers and pesticides. Alternatively, organic farming relies on things like crop rotation, enhancing soils naturally, and using organic pest control techniques.

You can get soft organic cotton baby clothing online from a number of stores. Sckoon is my favourite for organic baby clothing.

Benefits of Organic Baby Clothing

Buying organic clothes means you are purchasing produce which have been produced in an eco friendly manner, or at the very least in a way which causes less contamination of our habitat. No or a reduction in the use of herbicides and fertilizers means less pollution of our soils and rivers, less health problems for farm workers, and fewer health risks for our babies and children by reducing their contact with toxic chemicals.

Many retailers of baby clothes also make a range of organic clothing or you can find designers completely committed to organic baby fashion. Either way, there are a lot of brands to choose from and all ages are taken care of, from toddlers to adolescents. Naturally, organic fashion for men and women is also accessible and I am looking into that for myself and my partner.

I am not saying that I am just going to buy organic cotton or bamboo clothes (which is a good alternative to regular or organic cotton) for my baby but I am definitely going try to whenever possible.
