Back before I had my first child, I never really thought I would be part of a mothers group. However, now that I am a mum, chatting to other mothers about what is happening in my life has really helped me. Getting organic produce means you are purchasing clothes which have been produced in an environmentally friendly manner, or at least in a way which causes less contamination of soils and waterways. No or reduced use of herbicides and synthetic fertilisers means less pollution of our soils and rivers, reduced cancers for farm employees, and fewer health risks for our babies and children by moderating their contact with toxic chemicals.
