Organic Baby Clothes AURORA

Long before I had my children, I never thought I would belong to a mothers group. However, now that I have become a mum, chatting to other parents about what is going on in my life has really helped me. We chat about how we deal with our children, what to do and not to do, we share recipes, and we love to discuss the newest baby outfits we have bought.

I generally get together with 3 other women, once a month, to find out the latest gossip. We often meet at Jalisco Tacos II (which is in AURORA, IL) as that is quite central for all of us. Last month was really eye opening seeing we discussed organic baby clothes. I have been feeding my baby boy organic food from day one but I had not considered getting organic clothing for her.

Cotton is one of the most broadly grown plants in America and one of the most ruinous to the habitat and to farm employees. The run off from non-organic cotton farms has damaged the environment and in particular water supplies. Organic cotton is made without using artificial fertilisers and chemicals. Instead, organic farming relies on things like crop rotation, raising the quality of soils naturally, and using organic pest control methods.

Benefits of Organic Baby Clothing

Getting organic clothes means you are purchasing products which have been produced in an eco friendly manner, or at a minimum in a way which causes less damage to soils and waterways. No or less use of insecticides and synthetic fertilisers means less pollution of our land and lakes, reduced health problems for farm workers, and fewer health risks for our children by lessening their contact with potentially dangerous chemicals.

A number of producers of baby clothes also produce a range of organic clothing or you can find shops completely devoted to organic baby clothes. Either way, there are a lot of brands to choose from and all ages are catered for, from toddlers to adolescents. Obviously, organic clothes for men and women is also available and I am looking into that for myself and my husband.

I do not think that I am only going to get organic cotton or bamboo clothes (which is an amazing alternative to regular or organic cotton) for my children but I am absolutely going try to whenever possible.
