Organic Baby Clothes ARDMORE
Filed Under (Organic Baby Clothes) by Kaye on 14-08-2008
Long before I had my baby, I had not thought I would belong to a mothers group. Be that as it may, now that I am a mother, talking to other parents about what is happening in my life has been a huge help. We chat about how we raise our children, what to do and not to do, we share baby food recipes, and we like to discuss the most recent baby fashions we have purchased.
I more often than not meet with 2 other parents, once a week, to catch up on the latest happenings. We generally meet at Airpark Fly Buy (which is in ARDMORE, OK) as that is quite central for all of us. Last week was particularly exciting as we talked about organic baby clothes. I have been providing my baby boy organic produce from the start but I had not considered getting organic clothing for her.
Cotton is one of the most widely grown crops in the world and one of the most harmful to the environment and to farm employees. The run off from cotton farms has damaged the environment and particularly water bodies. Organic cotton is grown without using artificial fertilisers and chemicals. Instead, organic farming relies on things like crop rotation, enhancing soils naturally, and using eco friendly pest control methods.
You can get organic cotton baby clothing online from a number of stores. Sckoon has some gorgeous organic baby clothing.

Benefits of Organic Baby Clothing
Purchasing organic produce means you are getting clothes which have been produced in an environmentally friendly manner, or at a minimum in a way which causes less pollution of the environment. No or less use of insecticides and fertilizers means less pollution of our soils and waterways, fewer diseases for farm workers, and fewer health risks for our children by moderating their contact with dangerous chemicals.
A number of producers of baby clothes also make a range of organic clothing or you can find companies completely committed to organic baby fashion. Thankfully, there are a lot of designs to choose from and all ages are catered for, from infants to older children. Naturally, organic clothes for men and women is also available and I am looking into that for myself and my husband.
I would not go as far to say that I am only ever going to buy organic cotton or bamboo clothing (which is an amazing alternative to regular or organic cotton) for my child but I am definitely going try to whenever I can.
