Organic Baby Clothes ALBANY
Filed Under (Organic Baby Clothes) by Kaye on 29-08-2010
Before I had my first child, I never imagined I would join a mothers group. Anyhow, now that I am finally a new mother, talking to other women about what is taking place in my life has benefited me immensely. We talk about how we bring up our children, what to do and not to do, we share recipes, and we love to discuss the latest baby clothes we have bought.
I more often than not meet with 4 other parents, once a week, to find out the latest gossip. We usually meet at Bumby Bakeries Inc (which is in ALBANY, NY) as that is pretty central for all of us. Last week was more eye opening as we talked about organic baby clothes. I have been feeding my baby organic produce from the start but it had never crossed my mind to buying organic clothing for her.
Cotton is one of the most popular crops in America and one of the most devastating to the environment and to farm employees. The run off from these farms has ruined the environment and in particular water bodies. Organic produce is grown without using artificial fertilisers and pesticides. Alternatively, organic farming depends on things like crop rotation, raising the quality of soils naturally, and using organic insect control techniques.
You can buy organic baby apparel online from a number of shops. Sckoon has some gorgeous organic baby clothing.

Benefits of Organic Clothing
Purchasing organic clothing means you are getting products which have been produced in an eco friendly manner, or at least in a way which causes less damage to the environment. No or less use of pesticides and fertilizers means less pollution of our soils and lakes, reduced diseases for farmers, and fewer health risks for our children by moderating their contact with potentially dangerous chemicals.
A number of retailers of baby clothes also sell a range of organic items or you can find stores entirely devoted to organic baby clothes. Anyway, there are a lot of marks to choose from and all ages are catered for, from infants to teenagers. Obviously, organic clothing for men and women is also available and I am looking into that for myself and my husband.
I do not think that I am just going to get organic cotton or bamboo clothing (which is a great alternative to regular or organic cotton) for my baby but I am most definitely going try to whenever possible.
