Before I had my children, I had not believed I would be part of a mothers group. Be that as it may, now that I have become a mum, being able to talk to other women about what is going on in my life has really helped me. We chat about how we raise our children, what to do and not to do, we share recipes, and we like to talk about the most recent baby outfits we have picked up.

Cotton is one of the most broadly grown plants in the US and one of the most ruinous to the ecosystem and to farm workers. The run off from non-organic cotton farms has damaged the environment and in particular water supplies. Organic produce is produced without the use of artificial fertilisers and pesticides. Rather, organic farming depends upon things like crop rotation, enhancing soils naturally, and using organic pest control methods.

Benefits of Organic Clothing

Buying organic products means you are purchasing clothes which have been produced in an eco friendly manner, or at least in a way which causes less damage to soils and waterways. No or a reduction in the use of herbicides and fertilizers means less pollution of our farms and rivers, fewer cancers for farm employees, and fewer health risks for our babies and children by moderating their contact with dangerous chemicals.

Several makers of baby clothes also produce a range of organic items or you can find companies entirely dedicated to organic baby fashion. Anyway, there are a lot of designs to choose from and all ages are catered for, from infants to adolescents. Obviously, organic clothes for men and women is also obtainable and I am looking into that for myself and my partner.

I am not saying that I am only ever going to get organic cotton or bamboo clothes (which is a fantastic alternative to regular or organic cotton) for my baby but I am absolutely going try to whenever possible.
