Baby Clothes WILMINGTON

Before I had my first child, I never really thought I would join a mothers group. Anyhow, now that I am a mum, being able to talk to other parents about what is happening in my life has benefited me immensely. We chat about how we bring up our children, what to do and not to do, we share meal plans, and we love to talk about the most recent baby clothes we have picked up.

I usually get together with 3 other women, once a week, to find out the latest gossip. We often meet at Raffaeles Restaurant (which is in WILMINGTON, DE) as that is pretty central for all of us. Last week was really eye opening because we chatted about organic baby clothes. I have been feeding my baby boy organic meals from day one but I had never thought about purchasing organic clothing for her.

Cotton is one of the most popular crops in the world and one of the most devastating to the environment and to farmers. The run off from cotton farms has ruined the environment and especially water bodies. Organic produce is grown without using artificial fertilisers and insecticides. Rather, organic farming depends upon things like crop rotation, enhancing soils naturally, and using organic insect control methods.

Benefits of Organic Baby Clothing

Buying organic produce means you are buying produce which have been produced in an eco-friendly manner, or at least in a way which causes less contamination of soils and waterways. No or reduced use of pesticides and fertilisers means less pollution of our soils and rivers, fewer health problems for farm workers, and fewer health risks for our children by moderating their contact with toxic chemicals.

Many producers of baby clothes also sell a range of organic items or you can find retailers solely devoted to organic baby clothing. Either way, there are a lot of brands to choose from and all ages are catered for, from babies to teenagers. Obviously, organic clothing for men and women is also obtainable and I am looking into that for myself and my husband.

I do not think that I am only ever going to get organic cotton or bamboo clothing (which is a good alternative to regular or organic cotton) for my baby but I am absolutely going try to whenever possible.
