Baby Clothes WILMINGTON

Filed Under (Organic Baby Clothes) by Kaye on 01-03-2009

Long before I had my baby, I never really thought I would join a mothers group. Anyhow, now that I am finally a mother, being able to talk to other mothers about what is happening in my life has been a huge help. We chat about how we bring up our children, what to do and not to do, we share baby food recipes, and we like to talk about the newest baby clothes we have picked up.

I usually get together with 2 other women, once a fortnight, to find out the latest gossip. We generally meet at I Love NY Pizza (which is in WILMINGTON, NC) as that is quite central for all of us. Last month was more exciting seeing we discussed baby clothes. I have been giving my baby organic produce from the beginning but I had never thought about getting organic clothing for her.

Cotton is one of the most popular crops in the US and one of the most ruinous to the habitat and to farm employees. The run off from non-organic cotton farms has ruined habitats and particularly water ways. Organic products are produced without the use of artificial fertilisers and insecticides. Alternatively, organic farming depends on things like crop rotation, raising the quality of soils naturally, and using organic pest control methods.

You can purchase organic cotton baby clothing online from a number of shops. Sckoon has some gorgeous organic baby clothes.

Benefits of Organic Baby Clothing

Getting organic clothes means you are purchasing produce which have been produced in an eco friendly manner, or at the very least in a way which causes less contamination of our habitat. No or less use of insecticides and fertilizers means less pollution of our land and rivers, fewer health problems for farm employees, and fewer health risks for our babies and children by moderating their contact with toxic chemicals.

Several makers of baby clothes also produce a range of organic clothes or you can find retailers entirely committed to organic baby clothing. Anyway, there are a lot of brands to choose from and all ages are taken care of, from babies to older children. Naturally, organic clothing for men and women is also accessible and I am looking into that for myself and my husband.

I am not saying that I am only ever going to buy organic cotton or bamboo clothes (which is an amazing alternative to regular or organic cotton) for my baby but I am most definitely going try to whenever it is available.
