Baby Clothes WEST POINT

Filed Under (Organic Baby Clothes) by Kaye on 17-08-2010

Back before I had my children, I had not thought I would be part of a mothers group. However, now that I have become a new mother, chatting to other parents about what is taking place in my life has been a huge help. We chat about how we bring up our children, what to do and not to do, we share baby food recipes, and we like to talk about the latest baby outfits we have picked up.

I usually meet with 2 other mothers, once a month, to hear about the latest happenings. We usually meet at R L Real Home Cooking (which is in WEST POINT, GA) as that is pretty central for all of us. Last week was really eye opening because we talked about baby clothes. I have been feeding my baby girl organic produce from the beginning but it had never crossed my mind to purchasing organic clothing for her.

Cotton is one of the most widely grown products in the US and one of the most devastating to the ecosystem and to farm employees. The run off from cotton farms has ruined habitats and especially water ways. Organic products are grown without using artificial fertilisers and pesticides. Alternatively, organic farming depends upon things like crop rotation, raising the quality of soils naturally, and using organic pest control practices.

You can get beautiful organic baby clothing online from a number of retailers. Sckoon has some of the cutest organic baby clothing.

Benefits of Organic Clothing

Buying organic clothing means you are purchasing produce which have been produced in an eco friendly manner, or at a minimum in a way which causes less contamination of soils and waterways. No or a reduction in the use of pesticides and fertilisers means less pollution of our soils and waterways, fewer diseases for farm employees, and fewer health risks for children by reducing their contact with toxic chemicals.

Several retailers of baby clothes also sell a range of organic clothing or you can find stores entirely dedicated to organic baby clothes. Anyway, there are a lot of designs to choose from and all ages are taken care of, from infants to teenagers. Of course, organic clothes for men and women is also available and I am looking into that for myself and my husband.

I am not saying that I am only ever going to purchase organic cotton or bamboo clothes (which is a good alternative to regular or organic cotton) for my baby but I am absolutely going try to whenever possible.
