Before I had my baby, I had not thought I would join a mothers group. Be that as it may, now that I am finally a new mother, chatting to other women about what is happening in my life has been a huge help. We chat about how we deal with our children, what to do and not to do, we share baby food recipes, and we love to talk about the newest baby outfits we have picked up.

Cotton is one of the most broadly grown products in the US and one of the most ruinous to the ecosystem and to farm employees. The run off from cotton farms has destroyed habitats and particularly water supplies. Organic produce is produced without the need for artificial fertilisers and pesticides. Rather, organic farming relies on things like crop rotation, improving soils naturally, and using organic insect control techniques.

Benefits of Organic Baby Clothing

Buying organic clothing means you are purchasing produce which have been produced in an eco friendly manner, or at a minimum in a way which causes less contamination of our habitat. No or reduced use of pesticides and fertilizers means less pollution of our farms and waterways, reduced health problems for farm workers, and fewer health risks for children by reducing their contact with potentially dangerous chemicals.

Many retailers of baby clothes also sell a range of organic clothes or you can find designers entirely dedicated to organic baby clothes. Either way, there are a lot of brands to choose from and all ages are catered for, from infants to teenagers. Obviously, organic clothing for men and women is also obtainable and I am looking into that for myself and my husband.

I am not saying that I am just going to purchase organic cotton or bamboo clothes (which is an amazing alternative to regular or organic cotton) for my children but I am definitely going try to whenever possible.
