Baby Clothes WASHINGTON

Back before I had my first child, I had not imagined I would join a mothers group. Anyhow, now that I have become a new mother, talking to other mothers about what is happening in my life has benefited me immensely. We chat about how we raise our children, what to do and not to do, we share recipes, and we love to discuss the most recent baby clothes we have purchased.

I usually meet with 2 other parents, once a week, to catch up on the latest new. We generally meet at Chinese Kitchen Number 1 (which is in WASHINGTON, DC) as that is pretty central for all of us. Last time was really interesting as we talked about organic baby clothes. I have been giving my baby organic produce from day one but I had never thought about getting organic clothing for her.

Cotton is one of the most popular plants in America and one of the most harmful to the habitat and to farm employees. The run off from non-organic cotton farms has destroyed ecosystems and especially water bodies. Organic produce is produced without using artificial fertilisers and pesticides. Rather, organic farming relies on things like crop rotation, raising the quality of soils naturally, and using organic pest control techniques.

You can buy beautiful organic baby clothes online from a number of stores. Sckoon has some beautiful organic baby clothing.

Benefits of Organic Baby Clothing

Buying organic products means you are getting clothes which have been produced in an eco friendly manner, or at the very least in a way which causes less damage to soils and waterways. No or reduced use of pesticides and synthetic fertilisers means less pollution of our soils and rivers, fewer diseases for farm workers, and fewer health risks for our children by reducing their contact with potentially dangerous chemicals.

Many retailers of baby clothes also produce a range of organic clothing or you can find wholesalers solely dedicated to organic baby clothes. Thankfully, there are a lot of brands to choose from and all ages are provided for, from infants to older children. Naturally, organic clothing for men and women is also available and I am looking into that for myself and my husband.

I would not go as far to say that I am just going to purchase organic cotton or bamboo cotton clothing (which is a good alternative to regular or organic cotton) for my baby but I am without a doubt going try to whenever possible.
