Baby Clothes TALLAHASSEE
Filed Under (Organic Baby Clothes) by Kaye on 25-03-2008
Back before I had my children, I never imagined I would be part of a mothers group. Anyhow, now that I am finally a mother, talking to other mothers about what is going on in my life has really helped me. We talk about how we deal with our children, what to do and not to do, we share meal plans, and we enjoy being able to chat about the latest baby clothes we have picked up.
I generally go out with 4 other parents, once a week, to find out the latest happenings. We often meet at Dog Et AL (which is in TALLAHASSEE, FL) as that is pretty central for all of us. Last week was particularly eye opening because we chatted about organic baby clothes. I have been providing my baby boy organic meals from day one but I had never thought about purchasing organic clothing for her.
Cotton is one of the most broadly grown crops in America and one of the most ruinous to the habitat and to farmers. The run off from cotton farms has damaged habitats and in particular water ways. Organic produce is made without the use of artificial fertilisers and insecticides. Instead, organic farming depends upon things like crop rotation, enhancing soils naturally, and using eco friendly pest control practices.
Benefits of Choosing Organic Products
Buying organic produce means you are purchasing products which have been produced in an eco friendly manner, or at least in a way which causes less contamination of the environment. No or reduced use of insecticides and fertilisers means less pollution of our farms and lakes, less diseases for farm employees, and fewer health risks for our children by reducing their contact with potentially dangerous chemicals.
Quite a few wholesalers of baby clothes also sell a range of organic clothing or you can find companies entirely dedicated to organic baby clothes. Either way, there are a lot of brands to choose from and all ages are provided for, from infants to older children. Naturally, organic fashion for men and women is also available and I am looking into that for myself and my partner.
I would not go as far to say that I am just going to purchase organic cotton or bamboo cotton clothing (which is a great alternative to regular or organic cotton) for my baby but I am without a doubt going try to whenever it is available.
