Baby Clothes SUMMERSVILLE

Long before I had my baby, I never believed I would belong to a mothers group. Be that as it may, now that I am a new mother, talking to other parents about what is going on in my life has been a huge help. We talk about how we deal with our children, what to do and not to do, we share baby food recipes, and we like to talk about the latest baby outfits we have picked up.

I generally meet with 3 other women, once a week, to hear about the latest new. We often meet at Fran's Family Restaurant (which is in SUMMERSVILLE, WV) as that is fairly central for all of us. Last month was particularly interesting seeing we chatted about organic baby clothing. I have been providing my baby boy organic meals from the start but I had not considered purchasing organic clothing for her.

Cotton is one of the most widely grown products in America and one of the most harmful to the ecosystem and to farm employees. The run off from these farms has destroyed habitats and in particular water supplies. Organic produce is made without using artificial fertilisers and insecticides. Alternatively, organic farming depends on things like crop rotation, raising the quality of soils naturally, and using organic pest control techniques.

Benefits of Organic Clothing

Purchasing organic products means you are purchasing products which have been produced in an eco-friendly manner, or at a minimum in a way which causes less damage to the environment. No or reduced use of insecticides and fertilizers means less pollution of our soils and lakes, reduced cancers for farmers, and fewer health risks for our children by moderating their contact with toxic chemicals.

Several retailers of baby clothes also produce a range of organic clothes or you can find stores solely dedicated to organic baby clothes. Thankfully, there are a lot of marks to choose from and all ages are catered for, from babies to older children. Of course, organic fashion for men and women is also accessible and I am looking into that for myself and my man.

I would not go as far to say that I am just going to purchase organic cotton or bamboo clothing (which is a fantastic alternative to regular or organic cotton) for my children but I am most definitely going try to whenever possible.
