Baby Clothes SILVER SPRING
Filed Under (Organic Baby Clothes) by Kaye on 26-08-2010
Back before I had my baby, I never really imagined I would join a mothers group. However, now that I am finally a mum, being able to talk to other women about what is happening in my life has benefited me immensely. We talk about how we raise our children, what to do and not to do, we share meal plans, and we enjoy being able to talk about the newest baby outfits we have purchased.
I more often than not go out with 3 other women, once a month, to catch up on the latest happenings. We often meet at Italia Gourmet Inc (which is in SILVER SPRING, MD) as that is quite central for all of us. Last week was really eye opening seeing we talked about organic baby clothes. I have been feeding my baby boy organic meals from the beginning but it had never crossed my mind to getting organic clothing for her.
Cotton is one of the most popular products in the US and one of the most harmful to the ecosystem and to farm employees. The run off from non-organic cotton farms has ruined the environment and especially water ways. Organic products are made without using artificial fertilisers and chemicals. Alternatively, organic farming depends upon things like crop rotation, improving soils naturally, and using organic insect control practices.
You can get organic baby clothing online from a number of retailers. Sckoon is my favourite for organic baby clothes.

Benefits of Organic Baby Clothing
Purchasing organic clothes means you are getting produce which have been produced in an eco-friendly manner, or at the very least in a way which causes less damage to soils and waterways. No or a reduction in the use of insecticides and fertilizers means less pollution of our land and waterways, less diseases for farm workers, and fewer health risks for our children by lessening their contact with dangerous chemicals.
Many retailers of baby clothes also make a range of organic items or you can find stores entirely dedicated to organic baby clothing. Anyway, there are a lot of brands to choose from and all ages are catered for, from infants to teenagers. Of course, organic clothing for men and women is also available and I am looking into that for myself and my man.
I am not saying that I am only ever going to get organic cotton or bamboo clothing (which is a fantastic alternative to regular or organic cotton) for my baby but I am absolutely going try to whenever possible.
