Baby Clothes SHELBYVILLE

Filed Under (Organic Baby Clothes) by Kaye on 18-07-2009

Long before I had my children, I never really thought I would join a mothers group. Be that as it may, now that I am finally a mother, chatting to other parents about what is going on in my life has benefited me immensely. We chat about how we bring up our children, what to do and not to do, we share meal plans, and we love to talk about the most recent baby clothes we have purchased.

I generally get together with 2 other parents, once a month, to find out the latest happenings. We often meet at Bull Dog Restaurant & Private Club (which is in SHELBYVILLE, TX) as that is fairly central for all of us. Last week was really interesting as we discussed organic baby clothing. I have been giving my baby girl organic produce from the beginning but I had never thought about purchasing organic clothing for her.

Cotton is one of the most broadly grown crops in the world and one of the most devastating to the ecosystem and to farmers. The run off from non-organic cotton farms has damaged the environment and in particular water supplies. Organic produce is grown without the need for artificial fertilisers and insecticides. Rather, organic farming depends on things like crop rotation, raising the quality of soils naturally, and using organic pest control practices.

You can buy organic cotton baby outfits online from a number of stores. Sckoon has some beautiful organic baby clothes.

Benefits of Organic Clothing

Purchasing organic clothing means you are buying produce which have been produced in an eco-friendly manner, or at a minimum in a way which causes less damage to our habitat. No or reduced use of pesticides and fertilizers means less pollution of our farms and rivers, less cancers for farm workers, and fewer health risks for children by lessening their contact with dangerous chemicals.

Several wholesalers of baby clothes also make a range of organic clothing or you can find companies entirely committed to organic baby clothing. Thankfully, there are a lot of designs to choose from and all ages are catered for, from babies to adolescents. Of course, organic clothing for men and women is also available and I am looking into that for myself and my partner.

I would not go as far to say that I am only going to get organic cotton or bamboo clothes (which is a great alternative to regular or organic cotton) for my child but I am without a doubt going try to whenever possible.
