Baby Clothes SEATTLE

Filed Under (Organic Baby Clothes) by Kaye on 24-11-2009

Before I had my baby, I never really believed I would be part of a mothers group. However, now that I am finally a mum, chatting to other parents about what is going on in my life has benefited me immensely. We chat about how we deal with our children, what to do and not to do, we share baby food recipes, and we like to talk about the newest baby fashions we have picked up.

I more often than not meet with 4 other women, once a fortnight, to find out the latest new. We usually meet at Metropolitan Frozen Desserts and Fresh Juice (which is in SEATTLE, WA) as that is fairly central for all of us. Last month was really eye opening as we discussed organic baby clothes. I have been giving my baby boy organic produce from the start but it had never crossed my mind to buying organic clothing for her.

Cotton is one of the most broadly grown products in the US and one of the most devastating to the environment and to farmers. The run off from these farms has damaged habitats and particularly water ways. Organic products are made without the need for artificial fertilisers and insecticides. Alternatively, organic farming relies on things like crop rotation, raising the quality of soils naturally, and using eco friendly pest control methods.

You can get beautiful organic baby clothing online from a number of retailers. Sckoon has some beautiful organic baby clothes.

Benefits of Choosing Organic Products

Purchasing organic clothes means you are buying clothes which have been produced in an eco friendly manner, or at least in a way which causes less contamination of our habitat. No or reduced use of pesticides and synthetic fertilisers means less pollution of our land and lakes, fewer cancers for farm workers, and fewer health risks for children by lessening their contact with dangerous chemicals.

Quite a few producers of baby clothes also make a range of organic clothing or you can find wholesalers entirely dedicated to organic baby fashion. Either way, there are a lot of marks to choose from and all ages are provided for, from toddlers to teenagers. Naturally, organic clothing for men and women is also obtainable and I am looking into that for myself and my partner.

I do not think that I am only going to buy organic cotton or bamboo clothes (which is a great alternative to regular or organic cotton) for my child but I am without a doubt going try to whenever possible.
