Baby Clothes SEATTLE

Filed Under (Organic Baby Clothes) by Kaye on 02-10-2009

Before I had my children, I had not thought I would be part of a mothers group. Anyhow, now that I am a mother, chatting to other mothers about what is going on in my life has benefited me immensely. We chat about how we raise our children, what to do and not to do, we share meal plans, and we love to chat about the most recent baby clothes we have picked up.

I more often than not meet with 3 other mothers, once a month, to hear about the latest happenings. We generally meet at Briazz the Bon Marche (which is in SEATTLE, WA) as that is pretty central for all of us. Last month was really interesting seeing we chatted about organic baby clothes. I have been feeding my baby boy organic produce from day one but I had never thought about getting organic clothing for her.

Cotton is one of the most popular plants in America and one of the most devastating to the environment and to farm employees. The run off from non-organic cotton farms has ruined ecosystems and especially water bodies. Organic cotton is grown without the need for artificial fertilisers and chemicals. Rather, organic farming depends upon things like crop rotation, raising the quality of soils naturally, and using organic pest control techniques.

You can get organic cotton baby clothes online from a number of shops. Sckoon is my favourite for organic baby clothes.

Benefits of Organic Clothing

Getting organic produce means you are purchasing products which have been produced in an environmentally friendly manner, or at least in a way which causes less pollution of the environment. No or less use of pesticides and fertilizers means less pollution of our soils and waterways, fewer diseases for farm workers, and fewer health risks for our children by moderating their contact with toxic chemicals.

A number of wholesalers of baby clothes also produce a range of organic clothing or you can find wholesalers entirely dedicated to organic baby fashion. Anyway, there are a lot of designs to choose from and all ages are catered for, from toddlers to teenagers. Of course, organic clothing for men and women is also obtainable and I am looking into that for myself and my husband.

I would not go as far to say that I am only going to purchase organic cotton or bamboo clothing (which is an excellent alternative to regular or organic cotton) for my children but I am absolutely going try to whenever I can.
