Baby Clothes SEABROOK

Filed Under (Organic Baby Clothes) by Kaye on 01-05-2009

Back before I had my baby, I had not imagined I would belong to a mothers group. However, now that I have become a mother, chatting to other women about what is taking place in my life has been a huge help. We discuss how we deal with our children, what to do and not to do, we share baby food recipes, and we enjoy being able to chat about the most recent baby outfits we have picked up.

I usually get together with 2 other women, once a fortnight, to hear about the latest new. We usually meet at Round Rock Restaurant (which is in SEABROOK, NH) as that is quite central for all of us. Last week was more eye opening as we chatted about organic baby clothes. I have been giving my baby organic meals from the start but it had never crossed my mind to buying organic clothing for her.

Cotton is one of the most broadly grown products in the US and one of the most devastating to the habitat and to farm workers. The run off from these farms has damaged ecosystems and particularly water bodies. Organic cotton is grown without the use of artificial fertilisers and pesticides. Rather, organic farming relies on things like crop rotation, enhancing soils naturally, and using organic pest control methods.

You can get soft organic cotton baby outfits online from a number of shops. Sckoon is my favourite for organic baby clothes.

Benefits of Choosing Organic Products

Getting organic clothes means you are purchasing clothes which have been produced in an eco friendly manner, or at a minimum in a way which causes less contamination of the environment. No or a reduction in the use of pesticides and synthetic fertilisers means less pollution of our soils and lakes, fewer cancers for farmers, and fewer health risks for our children by moderating their contact with potentially dangerous chemicals.

A number of retailers of baby clothes also produce a range of organic items or you can find shops entirely devoted to organic baby fashion. Thankfully, there are a lot of brands to choose from and all ages are provided for, from toddlers to adolescents. Naturally, organic fashion for men and women is also available and I am looking into that for myself and my husband.

I am not saying that I am only going to buy organic cotton or bamboo clothing (which is a great alternative to regular or organic cotton) for my children but I am definitely going try to whenever I can.
