Baby Clothes SALEM

Back before I had my first child, I never believed I would join a mothers group. Anyhow, now that I am a mother, being able to talk to other women about what is happening in my life has been a huge help. We talk about how we deal with our children, what to do and not to do, we share recipes, and we like to discuss the newest baby fashions we have picked up.

I usually meet with 4 other parents, once a fortnight, to catch up on the latest happenings. We usually meet at Tumbleweed of Salem (which is in SALEM, IN) as that is fairly central for all of us. Last month was more interesting as we discussed organic baby clothes. I have been giving my baby girl organic food from day one but I had never thought about purchasing organic clothing for her.

Cotton is one of the most broadly grown products in the US and one of the most ruinous to the ecosystem and to farmers. The run off from cotton farms has ruined habitats and particularly water supplies. Organic produce is produced without the need for artificial fertilisers and pesticides. Rather, organic farming relies on things like crop rotation, improving soils naturally, and using eco friendly pest control methods.

Benefits of Organic Baby Clothing

Purchasing organic clothes means you are purchasing produce which have been produced in an eco friendly manner, or at least in a way which causes less pollution of our habitat. No or less use of pesticides and fertilizers means less pollution of our soils and rivers, reduced diseases for farm workers, and fewer health risks for our babies and children by moderating their contact with toxic chemicals.

Several wholesalers of baby clothes also produce a range of organic items or you can find wholesalers solely devoted to organic baby clothing. Either way, there are a lot of brands to choose from and all ages are taken care of, from toddlers to older children. Naturally, organic clothes for men and women is also obtainable and I am looking into that for myself and my partner.

I do not think that I am only going to buy organic cotton or bamboo clothes (which is an excellent alternative to regular or organic cotton) for my baby but I am without a doubt going try to whenever possible.
