Long before I had my baby, I never really imagined I would belong to a mothers group. Anyhow, now that I am a mother, chatting to other women about what is happening in my life has really helped me. We discuss how we deal with our children, what to do and not to do, we share recipes, and we like to discuss the most recent baby fashions we have bought.

I more often than not get together with 2 other women, once a week, to hear about the latest happenings. Buying organic clothes means you are buying clothes which have been produced in an eco-friendly manner, or at the very least in a way which causes less damage to soils and waterways. No or a reduction in the use of pesticides and synthetic fertilisers means less pollution of our soils and rivers, reduced diseases for farmers, and fewer health risks for children by moderating their contact with dangerous chemicals.

Quite a few makers of baby clothes also sell a range of organic clothing or you can find shops entirely dedicated to organic baby fashion. Thankfully, there are a lot of marks to choose from and all ages are catered for, from toddlers to adolescents. Of course, organic clothing for men and women is also obtainable and I am looking into that for myself and my partner.

I would not go as far to say that I am only going to purchase organic cotton or bamboo clothes (which is a fantastic alternative to regular or organic cotton) for my baby but I am without a doubt going try to whenever possible.
