Baby Clothes RUSTON

Back before I had my first child, I had not thought I would join a mothers group. However, now that I have become a new mother, being able to talk to other parents about what is happening in my life has really helped me. We talk about how we bring up our children, what to do and not to do, we share recipes, and we enjoy being able to discuss the latest baby outfits we have picked up.

I more often than not go out with 4 other parents, once a fortnight, to hear about the latest happenings. We generally meet at Cucos Mexican Cafe (which is in RUSTON, LA) as that is fairly central for all of us. Last month was really eye opening seeing we discussed organic baby clothing. I have been feeding my baby organic produce from day one but I had not considered purchasing organic clothing for her.

Cotton is one of the most broadly grown crops in the world and one of the most devastating to the ecosystem and to farmers. The run off from non-organic cotton farms has ruined habitats and especially water bodies. Organic products are grown without the use of artificial fertilisers and chemicals. Alternatively, organic farming depends on things like crop rotation, raising the quality of soils naturally, and using organic pest control methods.

You can buy organic cotton baby outfits online from a number of retailers. Sckoon has some of the cutest organic baby clothing.

Benefits of Organic Baby Clothing

Getting organic produce means you are purchasing clothes which have been produced in an eco-friendly manner, or at a minimum in a way which causes less damage to the environment. No or a reduction in the use of pesticides and synthetic fertilisers means less pollution of our soils and lakes, fewer diseases for farmers, and fewer health risks for our babies and children by lessening their contact with dangerous chemicals.

A number of producers of baby clothes also produce a range of organic items or you can find shops entirely devoted to organic baby clothes. Anyway, there are a lot of marks to choose from and all ages are provided for, from infants to older children. Obviously, organic fashion for men and women is also available and I am looking into that for myself and my husband.

I am not saying that I am only going to buy organic cotton or bamboo cotton clothing (which is an excellent alternative to regular or organic cotton) for my children but I am absolutely going try to whenever possible.
