Baby Clothes ROCKY MOUNT

Filed Under (Organic Baby Clothes) by Kaye on 11-01-2009

Before I had my baby, I had not believed I would join a mothers group. Anyhow, now that I am a new mother, chatting to other mothers about what is happening in my life has benefited me immensely. We chat about how we raise our children, what to do and not to do, we share meal plans, and we enjoy being able to talk about the latest baby clothes we have purchased.

I usually meet with 4 other mothers, once a month, to catch up on the latest happenings. We often meet at Ichiban Japanese Steak House (which is in ROCKY MOUNT, NC) as that is pretty central for all of us. Last week was particularly interesting as we chatted about baby clothes. I have been providing my baby girl organic meals from day one but it had never crossed my mind to buying organic clothing for her.

Cotton is one of the most widely grown plants in the US and one of the most ruinous to the environment and to farm employees. The run off from cotton farms has destroyed ecosystems and particularly water bodies. Organic produce is grown without the need for artificial fertilisers and chemicals. Rather, organic farming depends on things like crop rotation, enhancing soils naturally, and using eco friendly pest control methods.

You can purchase soft organic cotton baby apparel online from a number of shops. Sckoon has some gorgeous organic baby clothes.

Benefits of Organic Baby Clothing

Getting organic clothes means you are purchasing produce which have been produced in an eco friendly manner, or at a minimum in a way which causes less contamination of the environment. No or less use of pesticides and synthetic fertilisers means less pollution of our land and waterways, less cancers for farmers, and fewer health risks for children by lessening their contact with potentially dangerous chemicals.

Several wholesalers of baby clothes also make a range of organic clothes or you can find shops solely dedicated to organic baby clothes. Thankfully, there are a lot of brands to choose from and all ages are catered for, from toddlers to adolescents. Of course, organic clothing for men and women is also available and I am looking into that for myself and my man.

I would not go as far to say that I am just going to buy organic cotton or bamboo clothing (which is an excellent alternative to regular or organic cotton) for my baby but I am most definitely going try to whenever I can.
