Back before I had my baby, I never really thought I would join a mothers group. Be that as it may, now that I am finally a mum, being able to talk to other mothers about what is happening in my life has been a huge help. We discuss how we deal with our children, what to do and not to do, we share meal plans, and we like to chat about the newest baby fashions we have bought.
I generally go out with 2 other mothers, once a month, to find out the latest gossip. We usually meet at C & C Deli & Grill (which is in ROCHESTER, NY) as that is quite central for all of us. Last time was more exciting as we discussed baby clothes. I have been feeding my baby boy organic food from the beginning but I had not considered purchasing organic clothing for her.
Cotton is one of the most popular crops in America and one of the most devastating to the habitat and to farm workers. The run off from non-organic cotton farms has ruined the environment and particularly water supplies. Organic produce is made without the need for artificial fertilisers and pesticides. Rather, organic farming depends upon things like crop rotation, raising the quality of soils naturally, and using organic pest control techniques.

Benefits of Organic Clothing
Getting organic produce means you are purchasing products which have been produced in an eco-friendly manner, or at the very least in a way which causes less contamination of our habitat. No or reduced use of pesticides and fertilisers means less pollution of our farms and rivers, fewer cancers for farm employees, and fewer health risks for our babies and children by moderating their contact with potentially dangerous chemicals.
Quite a few makers of baby clothes also make a range of organic clothes or you can find designers entirely devoted to organic baby fashion. Thankfully, there are a lot of marks to choose from and all ages are catered for, from toddlers to adolescents. Of course, organic clothing for men and women is also accessible and I am looking into that for myself and my husband.
I am not saying that I am only ever going to get organic cotton or bamboo clothes (which is a fantastic alternative to regular or organic cotton) for my children but I am most definitely going try to whenever it is available.
