Baby Clothes PONTIAC

Filed Under (Organic Baby Clothes) by Kaye on 15-06-2009

Long before I had my baby, I had not thought I would belong to a mothers group. Anyhow, now that I am finally a mother, talking to other mothers about what is taking place in my life has benefited me immensely. We talk about how we raise our children, what to do and not to do, we share baby food recipes, and we like to discuss the latest baby outfits we have bought.

I generally go out with 4 other parents, once a week, to find out the latest gossip. We usually meet at Apple Tree Restaurant (which is in PONTIAC, IL) as that is quite central for all of us. Last time was really exciting seeing we talked about organic baby clothes. I have been feeding my baby boy organic produce from the beginning but I had not considered buying organic clothing for her.

Cotton is one of the most popular crops in America and one of the most ruinous to the habitat and to farm workers. The run off from these farms has destroyed habitats and especially water bodies. Organic products are grown without using artificial fertilisers and pesticides. Instead, organic farming relies on things like crop rotation, improving soils naturally, and using organic insect control methods.

You can buy soft organic cotton baby clothing online from a number of retailers. Sckoon is my favourite for organic baby clothes.

Benefits of Organic Baby Clothing

Getting organic products means you are getting produce which have been produced in an eco friendly manner, or at the very least in a way which causes less damage to the environment. No or reduced use of herbicides and synthetic fertilisers means less pollution of our farms and waterways, fewer cancers for farm workers, and fewer health risks for our babies and children by reducing their contact with dangerous chemicals.

Quite a few retailers of baby clothes also make a range of organic items or you can find designers completely devoted to organic baby clothes. Thankfully, there are a lot of marks to choose from and all ages are taken care of, from infants to older children. Of course, organic clothing for men and women is also available and I am looking into that for myself and my man.

I would not go as far to say that I am just going to get organic cotton or bamboo clothing (which is a good alternative to regular or organic cotton) for my child but I am most definitely going try to whenever it is available.
