Long before I had my first child, I had not imagined I would belong to a mothers group. Anyhow, now that I have become a mother, being able to talk to other mothers about what is happening in my life has been a huge help. Buying organic produce means you are buying produce which have been produced in an environmentally friendly manner, or at the very least in a way which causes less pollution of soils and waterways. No or less use of insecticides and fertilisers means less pollution of our land and waterways, less diseases for farmers, and fewer health risks for children by reducing their contact with toxic chemicals.
