Baby Clothes OKLAHOMA CITY

Back before I had my baby, I never imagined I would belong to a mothers group. However, now that I am finally a mother, talking to other women about what is taking place in my life has really helped me. We talk about how we bring up our children, what to do and not to do, we share recipes, and we like to chat about the most recent baby fashions we have picked up.

I usually meet with 4 other mothers, once a fortnight, to catch up on the latest happenings. We usually meet at Black-Eyed Pea Restaurants (which is in OKLAHOMA CITY, OK) as that is fairly central for all of us. Last week was more exciting seeing we chatted about organic baby clothes. I have been providing my baby organic food from the beginning but I had not considered getting organic clothing for her.

Cotton is one of the most widely grown crops in the US and one of the most devastating to the habitat and to farm employees. The run off from non-organic cotton farms has ruined the environment and especially water supplies. Organic cotton is grown without the use of artificial fertilisers and insecticides. Alternatively, organic farming depends upon things like crop rotation, improving soils naturally, and using organic pest control techniques.

Benefits of Organic Clothing

Buying organic products means you are buying produce which have been produced in an eco-friendly manner, or at a minimum in a way which causes less pollution of our habitat. No or less use of herbicides and fertilisers means less pollution of our land and lakes, less health problems for farmers, and fewer health risks for our babies and children by moderating their contact with toxic chemicals.

Several retailers of baby clothes also sell a range of organic clothing or you can find companies solely committed to organic baby clothing. Either way, there are a lot of brands to choose from and all ages are provided for, from babies to adolescents. Naturally, organic fashion for men and women is also available and I am looking into that for myself and my man.

I am not saying that I am just going to purchase organic cotton or bamboo clothing (which is a fantastic alternative to regular or organic cotton) for my children but I am definitely going try to whenever it is available.
