Baby Clothes NORMAL

Back before I had my first child, I had not thought I would be part of a mothers group. Anyhow, now that I am finally a new mother, being able to talk to other parents about what is taking place in my life has benefited me immensely. We talk about how we raise our children, what to do and not to do, we share baby food recipes, and we love to chat about the newest baby fashions we have purchased.

I generally get together with 3 other mothers, once a month, to find out the latest new. We generally meet at Fazoli's Italian Restaurant (which is in NORMAL, IL) as that is pretty central for all of us. Last month was more interesting because we discussed organic baby clothes. I have been giving my baby organic meals from the start but I had never thought about buying organic clothing for her.

Cotton is one of the most popular plants in the world and one of the most devastating to the ecosystem and to farmers. The run off from cotton farms has damaged the environment and particularly water bodies. Organic produce is produced without the use of artificial fertilisers and insecticides. Instead, organic farming relies on things like crop rotation, raising the quality of soils naturally, and using organic pest control techniques.

Benefits of Organic Clothing

Buying organic clothing means you are getting products which have been produced in an eco friendly manner, or at the very least in a way which causes less damage to the environment. No or a reduction in the use of herbicides and fertilizers means less pollution of our land and lakes, reduced diseases for farm employees, and fewer health risks for our children by lessening their contact with dangerous chemicals.

Many retailers of baby clothes also make a range of organic clothes or you can find wholesalers entirely dedicated to organic baby clothing. Anyway, there are a lot of designs to choose from and all ages are provided for, from toddlers to adolescents. Naturally, organic clothing for men and women is also obtainable and I am looking into that for myself and my husband.

I do not think that I am only going to buy organic cotton or bamboo clothes (which is a fantastic alternative to regular or organic cotton) for my baby but I am without a doubt going try to whenever it is available.
