Baby Clothes NEW YORK

Filed Under (Organic Baby Clothes) by Kaye on 13-05-2009

Back before I had my baby, I never really imagined I would join a mothers group. However, now that I am a mother, chatting to other mothers about what is going on in my life has been a huge help. We chat about how we bring up our children, what to do and not to do, we share recipes, and we love to discuss the most recent baby fashions we have picked up.

I more often than not meet with 3 other parents, once a week, to find out the latest happenings. We often meet at Aegean Restaurant (which is in NEW YORK, NY) as that is quite central for all of us. Last time was really interesting as we talked about baby clothes. I have been giving my baby girl organic food from the start but I had never thought about getting organic clothing for her.

Cotton is one of the most widely grown plants in the world and one of the most devastating to the environment and to farmers. The run off from cotton farms has damaged habitats and especially water ways. Organic produce is grown without the use of artificial fertilisers and chemicals. Rather, organic farming depends upon things like crop rotation, raising the quality of soils naturally, and using organic pest control techniques.

You can get beautiful organic baby clothing online from a number of stores. Sckoon has some gorgeous organic baby clothing.

Benefits of Choosing Organic Products

Getting organic produce means you are purchasing clothes which have been produced in an eco friendly manner, or at least in a way which causes less contamination of soils and waterways. No or reduced use of pesticides and fertilisers means less pollution of our land and rivers, fewer diseases for farmers, and fewer health risks for children by reducing their contact with potentially dangerous chemicals.

Many producers of baby clothes also produce a range of organic items or you can find designers completely dedicated to organic baby clothing. Thankfully, there are a lot of designs to choose from and all ages are catered for, from toddlers to teenagers. Of course, organic fashion for men and women is also accessible and I am looking into that for myself and my partner.

I am not saying that I am only ever going to buy organic cotton or bamboo clothing (which is an amazing alternative to regular or organic cotton) for my baby but I am without a doubt going try to whenever possible.
