Baby Clothes NEW YORK

Filed Under (Organic Baby Clothes) by Kaye on 08-07-2008

Long before I had my baby, I never really believed I would join a mothers group. Be that as it may, now that I am a mother, talking to other mothers about what is happening in my life has benefited me immensely. We discuss how we bring up our children, what to do and not to do, we share meal plans, and we enjoy being able to discuss the latest baby outfits we have bought.

I generally meet with 2 other mothers, once a week, to catch up on the latest happenings. We usually meet at Cafe Rosso (which is in NEW YORK, NY) as that is quite central for all of us. Last month was particularly interesting as we discussed baby clothes. I have been feeding my baby boy organic produce from the beginning but it had never crossed my mind to buying organic clothing for her.

Cotton is one of the most widely grown plants in America and one of the most harmful to the ecosystem and to farm workers. The run off from cotton farms has ruined ecosystems and especially water bodies. Organic products are made without using artificial fertilisers and pesticides. Alternatively, organic farming depends on things like crop rotation, raising the quality of soils naturally, and using eco friendly pest control techniques.

You can buy organic baby clothing online from a number of retailers. Sckoon has some gorgeous organic baby clothing.

Benefits of Choosing Organic Products

Buying organic products means you are getting products which have been produced in an eco-friendly manner, or at the very least in a way which causes less contamination of our habitat. No or reduced use of pesticides and synthetic fertilisers means less pollution of our soils and rivers, less cancers for farmers, and fewer health risks for our babies and children by reducing their contact with toxic chemicals.

A number of producers of baby clothes also sell a range of organic clothes or you can find shops entirely dedicated to organic baby clothes. Anyway, there are a lot of brands to choose from and all ages are provided for, from babies to teenagers. Obviously, organic fashion for men and women is also accessible and I am looking into that for myself and my man.

I am not saying that I am only ever going to get organic cotton or bamboo clothes (which is a great alternative to regular or organic cotton) for my children but I am absolutely going try to whenever it is available.
