Baby Clothes NAPLES

Filed Under (Organic Baby Clothes) by Kaye on 01-06-2008

Long before I had my baby, I had not thought I would belong to a mothers group. Anyhow, now that I am a new mother, chatting to other women about what is happening in my life has been a huge help. We talk about how we deal with our children, what to do and not to do, we share baby food recipes, and we enjoy being able to chat about the latest baby outfits we have bought.

I more often than not go out with 2 other women, once a week, to find out the latest happenings. We generally meet at Brown Bag BBQ (which is in NAPLES, FL) as that is pretty central for all of us. Last week was really interesting seeing we discussed baby clothes. I have been feeding my baby organic meals from day one but I had never thought about getting organic clothing for her.

Cotton is one of the most broadly grown crops in the world and one of the most ruinous to the ecosystem and to farm employees. The run off from cotton farms has ruined habitats and particularly water ways. Organic products are grown without using artificial fertilisers and chemicals. Rather, organic farming relies on things like crop rotation, improving soils naturally, and using organic pest control practices.

Benefits of Organic Baby Clothing

Buying organic clothes means you are buying produce which have been produced in an environmentally friendly manner, or at a minimum in a way which causes less contamination of our habitat. No or reduced use of pesticides and fertilisers means less pollution of our farms and waterways, reduced cancers for farm workers, and fewer health risks for our children by lessening their contact with potentially dangerous chemicals.

Quite a few makers of baby clothes also make a range of organic clothes or you can find stores completely dedicated to organic baby fashion. Thankfully, there are a lot of marks to choose from and all ages are taken care of, from babies to teenagers. Of course, organic clothing for men and women is also accessible and I am looking into that for myself and my partner.

I am not saying that I am just going to purchase organic cotton or bamboo clothes (which is a great alternative to regular or organic cotton) for my baby but I am absolutely going try to whenever possible.
