Baby Clothes MONKTON
Filed Under (Organic Baby Clothes) by Kaye on 27-08-2009
Long before I had my children, I never really thought I would belong to a mothers group. However, now that I have become a mum, talking to other women about what is going on in my life has benefited me immensely. We talk about how we deal with our children, what to do and not to do, we share recipes, and we like to discuss the most recent baby clothes we have picked up.
I more often than not get together with 4 other mothers, once a fortnight, to catch up on the latest happenings. We generally meet at Wagon Wheel Restaurant (which is in MONKTON, MD) as that is quite central for all of us. Last week was really exciting as we chatted about organic baby clothing. I have been feeding my baby organic food from the start but it had never crossed my mind to purchasing organic clothing for her.
Cotton is one of the most widely grown products in the world and one of the most harmful to the ecosystem and to farmers. The run off from these farms has destroyed habitats and especially water supplies. Organic products are grown without the need for artificial fertilisers and pesticides. Rather, organic farming depends on things like crop rotation, enhancing soils naturally, and using eco friendly pest control methods.
You can get soft organic cotton baby clothing online from a number of shops. Sckoon is my favourite for organic baby clothing.

Benefits of Organic Clothing
Getting organic produce means you are purchasing clothes which have been produced in an eco friendly manner, or at least in a way which causes less damage to our habitat. No or reduced use of insecticides and fertilizers means less pollution of our land and waterways, fewer health problems for farm workers, and fewer health risks for our children by lessening their contact with toxic chemicals.
Several makers of baby clothes also produce a range of organic clothes or you can find retailers completely committed to organic baby clothes. Either way, there are a lot of brands to choose from and all ages are catered for, from infants to older children. Of course, organic clothing for men and women is also accessible and I am looking into that for myself and my partner.
I am not saying that I am just going to buy organic cotton or bamboo clothes (which is an excellent alternative to regular or organic cotton) for my children but I am most definitely going try to whenever it is available.
