Baby Clothes MIAMI

Filed Under (Organic Baby Clothes) by Kaye on 25-05-2008

Before I had my first child, I had not thought I would be part of a mothers group. Anyhow, now that I am finally a mother, talking to other parents about what is happening in my life has been a huge help. We chat about how we deal with our children, what to do and not to do, we share baby food recipes, and we like to talk about the latest baby clothes we have bought.

I generally get together with 2 other parents, once a month, to find out the latest gossip. We generally meet at Madelin Cafeteria Restaurant (which is in MIAMI, FL) as that is pretty central for all of us. Last time was really interesting because we chatted about organic baby clothes. I have been feeding my baby organic meals from the start but it had never crossed my mind to purchasing organic clothing for her.

Cotton is one of the most widely grown products in America and one of the most devastating to the environment and to farmers. The run off from these farms has destroyed the environment and particularly water ways. Organic products are made without the need for artificial fertilisers and insecticides. Instead, organic farming relies on things like crop rotation, enhancing soils naturally, and using organic pest control techniques.

Benefits of Organic Clothing

Getting organic produce means you are purchasing products which have been produced in an environmentally friendly manner, or at the very least in a way which causes less pollution of our habitat. No or a reduction in the use of insecticides and fertilizers means less pollution of our soils and waterways, less cancers for farm workers, and fewer health risks for our babies and children by moderating their contact with potentially dangerous chemicals.

A number of makers of baby clothes also make a range of organic clothes or you can find shops solely dedicated to organic baby clothes. Anyway, there are a lot of marks to choose from and all ages are taken care of, from toddlers to teenagers. Naturally, organic clothes for men and women is also available and I am looking into that for myself and my husband.

I am not saying that I am only ever going to buy organic cotton or bamboo clothes (which is a great alternative to regular or organic cotton) for my child but I am most definitely going try to whenever possible.
