Baby Clothes MENDHAM

Filed Under (Organic Baby Clothes) by Kaye on 07-06-2008

Before I had my baby, I had not thought I would join a mothers group. Anyhow, now that I am finally a new mother, chatting to other mothers about what is going on in my life has really helped me. We chat about how we deal with our children, what to do and not to do, we share meal plans, and we like to discuss the latest baby clothes we have purchased.

I usually get together with 3 other mothers, once a fortnight, to find out the latest happenings. We often meet at Emack & Bolios Ice Cream Shop (which is in MENDHAM, NJ) as that is quite central for all of us. Last month was more interesting because we talked about baby clothes. I have been providing my baby organic produce from the beginning but it had never crossed my mind to getting organic clothing for her.

Cotton is one of the most broadly grown products in America and one of the most ruinous to the habitat and to farmers. The run off from these farms has destroyed ecosystems and in particular water supplies. Organic cotton is produced without using artificial fertilisers and pesticides. Instead, organic farming relies on things like crop rotation, enhancing soils naturally, and using eco friendly pest control practices.

You can purchase organic baby clothes online from a number of shops. Sckoon is my favourite for organic baby clothes.

Benefits of Organic Clothing

Buying organic produce means you are getting products which have been produced in an environmentally friendly manner, or at a minimum in a way which causes less pollution of the environment. No or a reduction in the use of pesticides and synthetic fertilisers means less pollution of our farms and lakes, reduced health problems for farmers, and fewer health risks for our babies and children by moderating their contact with toxic chemicals.

Several wholesalers of baby clothes also make a range of organic items or you can find wholesalers completely dedicated to organic baby clothes. Either way, there are a lot of marks to choose from and all ages are provided for, from babies to teenagers. Obviously, organic fashion for men and women is also accessible and I am looking into that for myself and my husband.

I do not think that I am only ever going to get organic cotton or bamboo clothes (which is a fantastic alternative to regular or organic cotton) for my children but I am absolutely going try to whenever I can.
