Baby Clothes LOVES PARK

Filed Under (Organic Baby Clothes) by Kaye on 09-11-2009

Before I had my children, I never really thought I would join a mothers group. Anyhow, now that I am a new mother, being able to talk to other parents about what is taking place in my life has benefited me immensely. We talk about how we bring up our children, what to do and not to do, we share baby food recipes, and we love to talk about the most recent baby fashions we have picked up.

I usually get together with 3 other parents, once a week, to hear about the latest gossip. We often meet at Brew Haus (which is in LOVES PARK, IL) as that is pretty central for all of us. Last time was particularly eye opening as we chatted about organic baby clothing. I have been providing my baby organic meals from day one but it had never crossed my mind to buying organic clothing for her.

Cotton is one of the most broadly grown plants in the US and one of the most devastating to the ecosystem and to farm workers. The run off from non-organic cotton farms has damaged ecosystems and especially water supplies. Organic products are produced without the use of artificial fertilisers and pesticides. Instead, organic farming depends on things like crop rotation, improving soils naturally, and using organic insect control methods.

You can buy beautiful organic baby clothing online from a number of shops. Sckoon has some gorgeous organic baby clothing.

Benefits of Organic Clothing

Buying organic clothing means you are purchasing clothes which have been produced in an eco-friendly manner, or at a minimum in a way which causes less pollution of the environment. No or a reduction in the use of herbicides and fertilisers means less pollution of our land and lakes, reduced health problems for farm workers, and fewer health risks for our children by lessening their contact with toxic chemicals.

Quite a few wholesalers of baby clothes also make a range of organic clothing or you can find companies entirely devoted to organic baby clothes. Anyway, there are a lot of brands to choose from and all ages are taken care of, from babies to teenagers. Obviously, organic fashion for men and women is also available and I am looking into that for myself and my man.

I do not think that I am only going to get organic cotton or bamboo cotton clothing (which is a fantastic alternative to regular or organic cotton) for my baby but I am absolutely going try to whenever it is available.
