Baby Clothes JOHNSON

Filed Under (Organic Baby Clothes) by Kaye on 28-06-2008

Before I had my children, I never imagined I would belong to a mothers group. Anyhow, now that I have become a mum, talking to other mothers about what is happening in my life has benefited me immensely. We talk about how we deal with our children, what to do and not to do, we share meal plans, and we enjoy being able to discuss the newest baby clothes we have purchased.

I more often than not get together with 4 other parents, once a fortnight, to find out the latest gossip. We usually meet at Puffys Pizza (which is in JOHNSON, KS) as that is fairly central for all of us. Last week was more eye opening as we chatted about organic baby clothing. I have been providing my baby boy organic meals from the start but I had never thought about purchasing organic clothing for her.

Cotton is one of the most widely grown crops in the US and one of the most harmful to the environment and to farm workers. The run off from these farms has damaged the environment and particularly water supplies. Organic products are made without the use of artificial fertilisers and insecticides. Rather, organic farming depends upon things like crop rotation, enhancing soils naturally, and using organic pest control practices.

You can get organic cotton baby clothes online from a number of shops. Sckoon has some gorgeous organic baby apparel.

Benefits of Choosing Organic Products

Purchasing organic clothing means you are getting clothes which have been produced in an environmentally friendly manner, or at the very least in a way which causes less damage to the environment. No or a reduction in the use of pesticides and synthetic fertilisers means less pollution of our soils and waterways, less diseases for farm employees, and fewer health risks for our children by moderating their contact with dangerous chemicals.

Several wholesalers of baby clothes also sell a range of organic clothing or you can find companies solely dedicated to organic baby clothing. Anyway, there are a lot of designs to choose from and all ages are provided for, from infants to adolescents. Naturally, organic clothing for men and women is also available and I am looking into that for myself and my man.

I would not go as far to say that I am only ever going to purchase organic cotton or bamboo clothes (which is a good alternative to regular or organic cotton) for my baby but I am definitely going try to whenever it is available.
