Baby Clothes JENNINGS

Long before I had my first child, I never imagined I would join a mothers group. However, now that I am a new mother, being able to talk to other parents about what is taking place in my life has benefited me immensely. We discuss how we bring up our children, what to do and not to do, we share meal plans, and we love to talk about the latest baby outfits we have bought.

I usually get together with 2 other parents, once a month, to catch up on the latest gossip. We generally meet at China Coast (which is in JENNINGS, LA) as that is fairly central for all of us. Last week was particularly exciting as we chatted about baby clothes. I have been feeding my baby boy organic produce from the beginning but I had not considered purchasing organic clothing for her.

Cotton is one of the most broadly grown products in America and one of the most harmful to the ecosystem and to farm workers. The run off from these farms has destroyed habitats and particularly water ways. Organic cotton is produced without using artificial fertilisers and insecticides. Alternatively, organic farming relies on things like crop rotation, enhancing soils naturally, and using organic pest control practices.

Benefits of Organic Baby Clothing

Purchasing organic clothes means you are purchasing products which have been produced in an eco friendly manner, or at least in a way which causes less pollution of soils and waterways. No or reduced use of pesticides and fertilisers means less pollution of our farms and lakes, less diseases for farm workers, and fewer health risks for our children by reducing their contact with dangerous chemicals.

Quite a few wholesalers of baby clothes also make a range of organic items or you can find retailers entirely dedicated to organic baby fashion. Either way, there are a lot of marks to choose from and all ages are taken care of, from babies to older children. Obviously, organic clothes for men and women is also available and I am looking into that for myself and my man.

I would not go as far to say that I am only going to get organic cotton or bamboo clothes (which is a good alternative to regular or organic cotton) for my baby but I am absolutely going try to whenever I can.
