Baby Clothes JAMAICA

Long before I had my children, I never really imagined I would be part of a mothers group. However, now that I am finally a mum, being able to talk to other mothers about what is going on in my life has benefited me immensely. We chat about how we deal with our children, what to do and not to do, we share baby food recipes, and we love to talk about the newest baby fashions we have picked up.

I generally meet with 3 other mothers, once a week, to find out the latest new. We generally meet at Flagship Restaurant (which is in JAMAICA, NY) as that is quite central for all of us. Last week was particularly eye opening as we talked about organic baby clothes. I have been giving my baby boy organic meals from day one but it had never crossed my mind to getting organic clothing for her.

Cotton is one of the most widely grown crops in America and one of the most ruinous to the habitat and to farm employees. The run off from non-organic cotton farms has damaged the environment and particularly water bodies. Organic cotton is grown without the use of artificial fertilisers and chemicals. Rather, organic farming depends upon things like crop rotation, improving soils naturally, and using eco friendly pest control techniques.

Benefits of Organic Baby Clothing

Purchasing organic produce means you are buying clothes which have been produced in an eco friendly manner, or at the very least in a way which causes less pollution of our habitat. No or a reduction in the use of pesticides and fertilisers means less pollution of our farms and waterways, less cancers for farm employees, and fewer health risks for children by reducing their contact with potentially dangerous chemicals.

Several producers of baby clothes also make a range of organic items or you can find companies solely dedicated to organic baby clothing. Either way, there are a lot of brands to choose from and all ages are provided for, from infants to adolescents. Of course, organic clothes for men and women is also obtainable and I am looking into that for myself and my husband.

I would not go as far to say that I am only going to get organic cotton or bamboo clothing (which is a fantastic alternative to regular or organic cotton) for my baby but I am without a doubt going try to whenever I can.
