Baby Clothes JACKSON

Back before I had my first child, I had not believed I would be part of a mothers group. Be that as it may, now that I am finally a mother, talking to other parents about what is happening in my life has been a huge help. We chat about how we deal with our children, what to do and not to do, we share meal plans, and we love to talk about the latest baby outfits we have bought.

I generally go out with 4 other mothers, once a month, to catch up on the latest new. We usually meet at Lenny's Sub Shop (which is in JACKSON, TN) as that is fairly central for all of us. Last month was really exciting seeing we chatted about organic baby clothing. I have been providing my baby organic food from the start but it had never crossed my mind to getting organic clothing for her.

Cotton is one of the most broadly grown products in the world and one of the most devastating to the habitat and to farmers. The run off from these farms has damaged the environment and in particular water bodies. Organic products are made without the use of artificial fertilisers and chemicals. Alternatively, organic farming relies on things like crop rotation, enhancing soils naturally, and using organic insect control techniques.

Benefits of Choosing Organic Products

Purchasing organic clothes means you are buying clothes which have been produced in an environmentally friendly manner, or at least in a way which causes less contamination of soils and waterways. No or reduced use of herbicides and synthetic fertilisers means less pollution of our farms and rivers, less diseases for farmers, and fewer health risks for our babies and children by moderating their contact with potentially dangerous chemicals.

A number of makers of baby clothes also produce a range of organic clothes or you can find designers completely committed to organic baby fashion. Either way, there are a lot of designs to choose from and all ages are provided for, from babies to older children. Naturally, organic fashion for men and women is also accessible and I am looking into that for myself and my husband.

I would not go as far to say that I am just going to buy organic cotton or bamboo clothes (which is a good alternative to regular or organic cotton) for my children but I am without a doubt going try to whenever I can.
