Baby Clothes INDEPENDENCE

Long before I had my baby, I had not imagined I would belong to a mothers group. However, now that I have become a new mother, chatting to other parents about what is going on in my life has really helped me. We discuss how we raise our children, what to do and not to do, we share baby food recipes, and we like to discuss the newest baby clothes we have picked up.
I generally get together with 2 other mothers, once a month, to find out the latest gossip. We often meet at INDY Stop Inc (which is in INDEPENDENCE, IA) as that is fairly central for all of us. Last week was particularly eye opening seeing we discussed organic baby clothes. I have been providing my baby boy organic produce from the beginning but I had not considered buying organic clothing for her.
Cotton is one of the most broadly grown plants in America and one of the most ruinous to the habitat and to farm employees. The run off from these farms has destroyed habitats and especially water ways. Organic cotton is made without the need for artificial fertilisers and chemicals. Alternatively, organic farming depends upon things like crop rotation, raising the quality of soils naturally, and using eco friendly pest control practices.
Benefits of Organic Clothing
Getting organic products means you are buying products which have been produced in an environmentally friendly manner, or at least in a way which causes less damage to the environment. No or a reduction in the use of insecticides and fertilizers means less pollution of our farms and rivers, less diseases for farmers, and fewer health risks for our babies and children by reducing their contact with potentially dangerous chemicals.
Quite a few producers of baby clothes also sell a range of organic items or you can find stores completely dedicated to organic baby clothing. Anyway, there are a lot of brands to choose from and all ages are taken care of, from toddlers to older children. Naturally, organic clothes for men and women is also available and I am looking into that for myself and my partner.
I am not saying that I am just going to get organic cotton or bamboo cotton clothing (which is a great alternative to regular or organic cotton) for my children but I am without a doubt going try to whenever possible.
