Baby Clothes HOUSTON

Back before I had my children, I never believed I would join a mothers group. However, now that I have become a mum, being able to talk to other women about what is taking place in my life has been a huge help. We chat about how we bring up our children, what to do and not to do, we share recipes, and we enjoy being able to talk about the most recent baby outfits we have bought.

I usually meet with 3 other women, once a week, to find out the latest new. We generally meet at Bistro Lancaster (which is in HOUSTON, TX) as that is quite central for all of us. Last month was particularly eye opening as we talked about baby clothes. I have been feeding my baby boy organic meals from day one but I had not considered buying organic clothing for her.

Cotton is one of the most popular crops in America and one of the most harmful to the ecosystem and to farm workers. The run off from non-organic cotton farms has destroyed habitats and particularly water bodies. Organic products are produced without the need for artificial fertilisers and chemicals. Alternatively, organic farming depends on things like crop rotation, enhancing soils naturally, and using organic insect control methods.

You can get organic cotton baby apparel online from a number of stores. Sckoon is my favourite for organic baby apparel.

Benefits of Organic Clothing

Buying organic clothing means you are purchasing products which have been produced in an eco-friendly manner, or at the very least in a way which causes less damage to the environment. No or a reduction in the use of herbicides and fertilisers means less pollution of our land and lakes, reduced health problems for farmers, and fewer health risks for children by lessening their contact with toxic chemicals.

Quite a few retailers of baby clothes also sell a range of organic items or you can find retailers solely devoted to organic baby clothing. Either way, there are a lot of brands to choose from and all ages are taken care of, from toddlers to older children. Obviously, organic fashion for men and women is also accessible and I am looking into that for myself and my husband.

I am not saying that I am just going to buy organic cotton or bamboo clothing (which is a great alternative to regular or organic cotton) for my child but I am absolutely going try to whenever it is available.
