Baby Clothes HIGH POINT

Filed Under (Organic Baby Clothes) by Kaye on 31-08-2009

Before I had my baby, I never imagined I would join a mothers group. Anyhow, now that I have become a mum, talking to other women about what is going on in my life has benefited me immensely. We talk about how we raise our children, what to do and not to do, we share meal plans, and we like to chat about the latest baby fashions we have purchased.

I generally get together with 4 other parents, once a month, to find out the latest happenings. We often meet at Sub City Sandwich Shop (which is in HIGH POINT, NC) as that is quite central for all of us. Last time was more exciting as we chatted about organic baby clothing. I have been giving my baby boy organic produce from the start but I had never thought about purchasing organic clothing for her.

Cotton is one of the most widely grown plants in America and one of the most ruinous to the environment and to farm workers. The run off from non-organic cotton farms has damaged ecosystems and especially water supplies. Organic products are made without using artificial fertilisers and chemicals. Alternatively, organic farming depends upon things like crop rotation, improving soils naturally, and using organic insect control techniques.

You can buy organic cotton baby clothes online from a number of stores. Sckoon is my favourite for organic baby clothing.

Benefits of Organic Clothing

Getting organic clothing means you are purchasing produce which have been produced in an eco friendly manner, or at the very least in a way which causes less damage to soils and waterways. No or less use of insecticides and fertilisers means less pollution of our land and rivers, fewer cancers for farmers, and fewer health risks for our babies and children by lessening their contact with toxic chemicals.

Many makers of baby clothes also sell a range of organic clothes or you can find wholesalers completely committed to organic baby clothing. Thankfully, there are a lot of designs to choose from and all ages are taken care of, from toddlers to adolescents. Of course, organic fashion for men and women is also accessible and I am looking into that for myself and my husband.

I am not saying that I am only going to purchase organic cotton or bamboo clothes (which is a great alternative to regular or organic cotton) for my baby but I am definitely going try to whenever I can.
