Baby Clothes GROVE HILL

Filed Under (Organic Baby Clothes) by Kaye on 07-04-2010

Back before I had my children, I never really believed I would join a mothers group. Be that as it may, now that I am a new mother, chatting to other parents about what is happening in my life has been a huge help. We chat about how we bring up our children, what to do and not to do, we share recipes, and we love to discuss the latest baby clothes we have bought.

I generally go out with 2 other women, once a week, to find out the latest new. We often meet at Gene's & Ellen's Drive Inn (which is in GROVE HILL, AL) as that is pretty central for all of us. Last week was really eye opening seeing we chatted about organic baby clothes. I have been providing my baby organic food from day one but it had never crossed my mind to buying organic clothing for her.

Cotton is one of the most broadly grown crops in the US and one of the most harmful to the environment and to farm workers. The run off from cotton farms has destroyed the environment and in particular water bodies. Organic products are made without the need for artificial fertilisers and pesticides. Instead, organic farming depends on things like crop rotation, enhancing soils naturally, and using eco friendly pest control techniques.

You can get organic cotton baby clothing online from a number of retailers. Sckoon has some gorgeous organic baby clothes.

Benefits of Organic Baby Clothing

Buying organic clothes means you are buying produce which have been produced in an environmentally friendly manner, or at the very least in a way which causes less contamination of the environment. No or reduced use of insecticides and fertilizers means less pollution of our farms and lakes, fewer diseases for farmers, and fewer health risks for our babies and children by reducing their contact with dangerous chemicals.

Several makers of baby clothes also sell a range of organic items or you can find companies entirely devoted to organic baby clothes. Anyway, there are a lot of brands to choose from and all ages are catered for, from infants to adolescents. Obviously, organic clothing for men and women is also available and I am looking into that for myself and my partner.

I am not saying that I am only ever going to buy organic cotton or bamboo clothing (which is a good alternative to regular or organic cotton) for my children but I am absolutely going try to whenever possible.
