Baby Clothes GREENSBORO
Filed Under (Organic Baby Clothes) by Kaye on 21-06-2008
Long before I had my first child, I never imagined I would join a mothers group. However, now that I am a mother, chatting to other women about what is happening in my life has really helped me. We talk about how we raise our children, what to do and not to do, we share baby food recipes, and we love to chat about the newest baby clothes we have bought.
I usually get together with 3 other parents, once a week, to hear about the latest gossip. We often meet at Wasabi Japanese Restaurant & Sushi Bar (which is in GREENSBORO, NC) as that is pretty central for all of us. Last time was really interesting as we discussed organic baby clothing. I have been feeding my baby organic meals from day one but I had not considered buying organic clothing for her.
Cotton is one of the most popular plants in the world and one of the most devastating to the habitat and to farm workers. The run off from non-organic cotton farms has damaged ecosystems and particularly water ways. Organic cotton is grown without using artificial fertilisers and chemicals. Instead, organic farming relies on things like crop rotation, improving soils naturally, and using organic pest control practices.
You can purchase organic cotton baby clothing online from a number of shops. Sckoon has some beautiful organic baby apparel.

Benefits of Choosing Organic Products
Purchasing organic products means you are buying produce which have been produced in an eco friendly manner, or at a minimum in a way which causes less damage to the environment. No or reduced use of pesticides and fertilisers means less pollution of our land and lakes, reduced cancers for farm workers, and fewer health risks for children by reducing their contact with potentially dangerous chemicals.
Several retailers of baby clothes also sell a range of organic items or you can find retailers completely devoted to organic baby clothing. Anyway, there are a lot of brands to choose from and all ages are catered for, from babies to adolescents. Naturally, organic clothing for men and women is also available and I am looking into that for myself and my partner.
I would not go as far to say that I am only ever going to buy organic cotton or bamboo clothing (which is a fantastic alternative to regular or organic cotton) for my baby but I am without a doubt going try to whenever possible.
