Baby Clothes GRANBY
Filed Under (Organic Baby Clothes) by Kaye on 05-06-2008
Back before I had my baby, I never really believed I would be part of a mothers group. Anyhow, now that I am a mother, talking to other women about what is going on in my life has been a huge help. We discuss how we raise our children, what to do and not to do, we share recipes, and we enjoy being able to discuss the newest baby clothes we have picked up.
I more often than not meet with 2 other parents, once a month, to hear about the latest happenings. We usually meet at Salmon Brook Street Grill (which is in GRANBY, CT) as that is quite central for all of us. Last time was particularly eye opening seeing we chatted about baby clothes. I have been giving my baby girl organic food from day one but I had never thought about getting organic clothing for her.
Cotton is one of the most broadly grown products in America and one of the most ruinous to the ecosystem and to farmers. The run off from cotton farms has destroyed the environment and in particular water supplies. Organic products are made without the use of artificial fertilisers and insecticides. Alternatively, organic farming relies on things like crop rotation, improving soils naturally, and using organic pest control practices.
You can buy beautiful organic baby clothing online from a number of stores. Sckoon has some gorgeous organic baby clothes.

Benefits of Organic Clothing
Getting organic clothing means you are purchasing clothes which have been produced in an environmentally friendly manner, or at least in a way which causes less pollution of our habitat. No or reduced use of insecticides and fertilizers means less pollution of our soils and rivers, fewer diseases for farm employees, and fewer health risks for our children by moderating their contact with toxic chemicals.
A number of wholesalers of baby clothes also produce a range of organic items or you can find shops solely committed to organic baby clothes. Either way, there are a lot of marks to choose from and all ages are taken care of, from babies to adolescents. Obviously, organic clothing for men and women is also accessible and I am looking into that for myself and my husband.
I am not saying that I am only ever going to buy organic cotton or bamboo cotton clothing (which is a fantastic alternative to regular or organic cotton) for my children but I am absolutely going try to whenever it is available.
