Baby Clothes GATLINBURG

Filed Under (Organic Baby Clothes) by Kaye on 06-08-2008

Before I had my children, I never really imagined I would belong to a mothers group. Be that as it may, now that I am finally a mum, chatting to other women about what is taking place in my life has been a huge help. We discuss how we deal with our children, what to do and not to do, we share recipes, and we enjoy being able to discuss the latest baby clothes we have bought.

I more often than not go out with 3 other mothers, once a fortnight, to find out the latest gossip. We often meet at Cheese Cupboard and Hofbrauhaus Restaurant (which is in GATLINBURG, TN) as that is fairly central for all of us. Last month was particularly interesting as we chatted about organic baby clothing. I have been feeding my baby organic food from day one but it had never crossed my mind to getting organic clothing for her.

Cotton is one of the most widely grown crops in the world and one of the most devastating to the habitat and to farm workers. The run off from these farms has ruined habitats and in particular water supplies. Organic cotton is made without using artificial fertilisers and chemicals. Rather, organic farming relies on things like crop rotation, raising the quality of soils naturally, and using organic insect control practices.

You can buy organic baby outfits online from a number of stores. Sckoon is my favourite for organic baby clothes.

Benefits of Organic Baby Clothing

Getting organic produce means you are purchasing produce which have been produced in an eco friendly manner, or at the very least in a way which causes less contamination of soils and waterways. No or a reduction in the use of insecticides and fertilisers means less pollution of our land and lakes, reduced cancers for farm employees, and fewer health risks for our babies and children by moderating their contact with toxic chemicals.

Quite a few wholesalers of baby clothes also sell a range of organic clothing or you can find retailers solely dedicated to organic baby clothes. Either way, there are a lot of brands to choose from and all ages are provided for, from toddlers to older children. Of course, organic clothing for men and women is also obtainable and I am looking into that for myself and my man.

I am not saying that I am just going to get organic cotton or bamboo clothing (which is an excellent alternative to regular or organic cotton) for my children but I am most definitely going try to whenever possible.
