Long before I had my first child, I never really thought I would join a mothers group. Be that as it may, now that I have become a new mother, chatting to other women about what is taking place in my life has been a huge help. We talk about how we deal with our children, what to do and not to do, we share meal plans, and we enjoy being able to chat about the latest baby clothes we have picked up.
I more often than not go out with 3 other women, once a month, to hear about the latest happenings. We generally meet at El Kiosco (which is in EUGENE, OR) as that is pretty central for all of us. I have been giving my baby organic produce from the beginning but I had never thought about buying organic clothing for her.
Cotton is one of the most popular plants in America and one of the most harmful to the environment and to farm employees. The run off from these farms has damaged ecosystems and in particular water supplies. Organic products are grown without the need for artificial fertilisers and pesticides. Alternatively, organic farming depends upon things like crop rotation, raising the quality of soils naturally, and using organic insect control techniques.

Benefits of Organic Baby Clothing
Purchasing organic products means you are purchasing produce which have been produced in an eco-friendly manner, or at the very least in a way which causes less pollution of our habitat. No or a reduction in the use of pesticides and fertilizers means less pollution of our soils and rivers, reduced cancers for farm employees, and fewer health risks for our children by moderating their contact with dangerous chemicals.
Many makers of baby clothes also produce a range of organic clothes or you can find shops entirely devoted to organic baby clothing. Thankfully, there are a lot of designs to choose from and all ages are taken care of, from toddlers to teenagers. Obviously, organic clothing for men and women is also obtainable and I am looking into that for myself and my husband.
I am not saying that I am just going to buy organic cotton or bamboo clothes (which is an amazing alternative to regular or organic cotton) for my child but I am most definitely going try to whenever I can.
