Baby Clothes EDMONDS

Filed Under (Organic Baby Clothes) by Kaye on 26-04-2009

Before I had my first child, I never thought I would join a mothers group. Anyhow, now that I have become a new mother, chatting to other women about what is taking place in my life has been a huge help. We talk about how we deal with our children, what to do and not to do, we share baby food recipes, and we like to discuss the most recent baby clothes we have picked up.

I more often than not go out with 4 other women, once a month, to hear about the latest happenings. We generally meet at European Deli (which is in EDMONDS, WA) as that is fairly central for all of us. Last month was particularly eye opening seeing we discussed organic baby clothes. I have been giving my baby girl organic produce from the start but I had not considered purchasing organic clothing for her.

Cotton is one of the most widely grown plants in the world and one of the most ruinous to the habitat and to farm workers. The run off from non-organic cotton farms has damaged ecosystems and particularly water supplies. Organic produce is produced without the use of artificial fertilisers and chemicals. Rather, organic farming relies on things like crop rotation, enhancing soils naturally, and using organic pest control practices.

You can purchase soft organic cotton baby clothing online from a number of stores. Sckoon has some beautiful organic baby clothing.

Benefits of Choosing Organic Products

Purchasing organic clothing means you are buying produce which have been produced in an eco-friendly manner, or at the very least in a way which causes less contamination of soils and waterways. No or less use of pesticides and fertilisers means less pollution of our land and rivers, less health problems for farm workers, and fewer health risks for children by lessening their contact with dangerous chemicals.

A number of wholesalers of baby clothes also sell a range of organic items or you can find shops solely committed to organic baby clothing. Thankfully, there are a lot of designs to choose from and all ages are provided for, from infants to teenagers. Obviously, organic clothing for men and women is also accessible and I am looking into that for myself and my partner.

I do not think that I am only ever going to get organic cotton or bamboo clothes (which is a fantastic alternative to regular or organic cotton) for my baby but I am definitely going try to whenever I can.
